‘Do a podcast they said; it will be good for publicity they said; it will help raise your profile they said. So I agreed, ‘Why not?’ I thought ‘what harm can it do and even if it is panned I can just bury my head in the sand and move on.’
Then I was filled with doubt. What topic should I choose? How long should it be? Then someone suggested that if someone actually interviewed me it would be a way of easing myself in to this without panicking. Good idea, I thought!
Then with the date set and interviewer lined up I am told that the topic will be “Why People Hate Recruiters”. Hold on a minute, I AM a recruiter and I thought the purpose of this was to position myself positively in the market. I don’t want people to hate me (after all I am a sensitive soul).
We got through it. I think I kept my end up as a recruiter and proved not all recruiters are the same.
